Peer Review Process
PEER REVIEW PROCESS
Jurnal Akuntansi, Manajemen, Bisnis dan Teknologi : is a journal that applies double blind peer-review. Every article submitted to the Jurnal Akuntansi, Manajemen, Bisnis dan Teknologi for publication is subject to a peer review process. Peer Review in this journal is an evaluation of articles submitted by the author involving two or more individuals who have similar competencies to the author. This aims to determine the suitability of academic manuscripts with the scope of the journal and writing ethics before entering the publication stage. The peer review method is used to maintain quality standards and provide credibility to the articles submitted by authors. The peer review process in the Jurnal Akuntansi, Manajemen, Bisnis dan Teknologi consists of 9 stages with the following description.
1. Article Submission
Authors whose articles fit the scope of the Accounting, Management, Business and Technology Journal and want their articles to be published can submit articles via the online system supported by the Open Journal System (OJS). However, to make it easier for writers, the Jurnal Akuntansi, Manajemen, Bisnis dan Teknologi and editors also accept paper submissions via email.
2. Editorial Assessment
Articles that have been sent by the author will be assessed by the editor of the Jurnal Akuntansi, Manajemen, Bisnis dan Teknologi. The editor checks the article's suitability to the focus and scope of the Journal. The composition and organization of the article is evaluated based on the article writing guidelines in this journal. In addition, an assessment of the minimum quality required for an article to be published begins at this step, including an assessment of whether there are methodological weaknesses. Every article that is submitted and passes this step will then be checked using a plagiarism check tool to identify plagiarism before being reviewed by a reviewer.
3. Assessment by the editor in chief
The editor in chief checks whether the article fits the scope of the journal, is original, interesting and significant for publication. Otherwise, the article may be rejected without further review.
4. Request for Article Review
The editor sends a request to individuals who will be reviewers who are appropriate to discuss the article based on expertise, proximity to research interests, and no consideration of conflicts of interest. The peer review process for the Jurnal Akuntansi, Manajemen, Bisnis dan Teknologi involves experts in the fields of Accounting, Management, Taxation, Economics and Finance who are qualified and able to carry out an impartial review. Impartiality is also carried out by the double-blind peer review used in this journal. This means that the reviewer does not know the identity of the author, conversely the author does not know the identity of the reviewer. Articles are sent to reviewers anonymously.
5. Response to review requests
Prospective reviewers consider the editor's request to review the article based on expertise, no conflict of interest, and the reviewer's own willingness. The potential reviewer then decides to accept or decline to review. If a prospective reviewer refuses to review the article, the editor can ask the prospective reviewer for suggestions to determine an alternative reviewer candidate.
6. Review Conducted
Reviewers allocate time to read articles several times. The first reading is used to form an initial impression of a work. If major problems are discovered at this stage, then the reviewer may feel comfortable rejecting the article without further review. If there are no major problems in the article, the reviewer will read the article thoroughly, making detailed point-by-point notes of the review results. The results of the review that have been carried out by the reviewer are then submitted to the journal editor, providing recommendations to accept, reject, or request revisions, either minor or major revisions before being reconsidered.
7. Editor Evaluates the Review results
The editor in chief and editors consider all review results returned by reviewers before making a decision. If the review results differ significantly between the two reviewers, the editor may invite additional reviewers to obtain additional opinions before making a decision.
8. Decision on the results of the review
The editor sends a decision email to the author including relevant reviewer comments. Reviewer comments are sent anonymously to the author to take necessary action and response.
9. Final Step
If accepted, the article is sent to copy editing for the editing process before the article is published in the Jurnal Akuntansi, Manajemen, Bisnis dan Teknologi.
If the article is rejected or sent back to the author for minor revisions or major revisions, the editor will include constructive comments from reviewers to help the author improve the article. The author must make corrections and revise the article according to the reviewers' comments and instructions. After revisions have been made, the author must send the revised paper back to the editor.
If the article is sent back for revision, the reviewer will receive the revised version, unless the reviewer chooses not to participate further. However, if only minor changes are requested, a follow-up review may be performed by the editor.
If the editor considers the revised article to be in accordance with the scope and ethics of writing in the Jurnal Akuntansi, Manajemen, Bisnis dan Teknologi then the article can be accepted for publication.
